Will Derrick

VP Treks

Will is a member of the McCombs Class of 2026 concentrating in venture capital, private equity and corporate finance. In addition to serving as the VP of Treks for the Venture Fellows, Will is a Board Fellow, providing strategy and consulting experience for the Hill Country Ride for AIDS. He is also active in the Tech Club, Texas Veterans in Business, and the Cleantech Group.

Prior to McCombs, Will was an officer in the US Army and spent five years in the Army MEDEVAC community piloting the HH-60M Blackhawk in various theaters around the world. Will came to McCombs seeking a new career path in venture capital, private equity, or tech.

Will was raised in a military family and grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from West Point and was a member of the West Point Parachute Team. In his free time, Will enjoys riding and racing bicycles around the world and making sourdough bread.
