Sophie Kanter

VP Treks

Sophie is a member of the McCombs MBA Class of 2026, concentrating on venture capital and entrepreneurship. In addition to serving as VP of Treks for Venture Fellows, Sophie is the Social Chair for the McCombs Graduate Business Council, Co-President of the Jewish MBA organization, and VP of Experiences of the MBA Wine Club, as well as an active member of the McCombs Ambassador Committee, Graduate Women in Business, and Graduate Entrepreneurship Society.

Prior to McCombs, Sophie spent nine years working in executive search and talent strategy in New York City. She began her career at Oscar Health, building out the recruiting and executive search functions, and managing company-wide talent initiatives. Most recently, she worked at the D. E. Shaw group leading recruitment and talent strategy for the Strategy and Business Development functions, and the venture studio.

Sophie is passionate about health care and impact investing, and is excited to be interning at True Wealth Ventures where she will be focused on investments in women-led companies improving human or environmental health. Sophie is a double Longhorn, having graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Psychology, and concentrations in Pre-Medical Studies, and Business Foundations.
