Samuel Nelson is a first-year MBA candidate at The University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business continuing his focus in finance. Before pursuing his MBA, Sam worked as an Associate in Investment Banking at Raymond James, where he guided deal teams and collaborated with executive leadership on strategic advisory mandates, including mergers and acquisitions in the defense and government services sectors.

Prior to Raymond James, Sam gained experience at G Squared Capital Partners, where he supported middle-market clients in executing complex transactions and played a key role in client engagements and team development. He began his career at ECS Federal in corporate development and financial planning, where he contributed to organizational growth through strategic initiatives and operational analysis.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from James Madison University. In addition to his professional pursuits, he is an advocate for environmental causes and enjoys mentoring aspiring finance professionals.
